Galaxy upgrade
During the maintenance period on April 2‐3, the UseGalaxy.no server was upgraded 5 releases from version 21.9 to version 23.2.Most of the major changes in the new versions are improvements to the back-end, but there are also several updates and additions to the user interface.
Highlights include:
- Faster data upload
- An Activity Bar that can be activated from the User ⇒ Preferences page
- New history panel
- Improved tool search (with advanced search options)
- An "Archive History" option (under the "History options" menu) to archive histories that you no longer need in a remote storage location – such as the NeLS Storage – and free up the space on the Galaxy server. If you need to access these histories again at a later time, you can import them back with the click of a button.
- Lots of improvements to Workflows (including conditional workflow steps)
- Change the genome build or data type for multiple datasets at once
- Improved "scratchbook" for viewing multiple datasets at the same time (3x3-grid icon in top menu)
- New notification system (bell icon in menubar)
- A Storage Dashboard to manage your storage account
- Exporting histories to other Galaxy instances via URLs now finally works from UseGalaxy.no (just remember to make the history "accessible" first via the "Share" page)
